Wendy Miller is in her final stages of her dissertation work.  Under co-chairs, David Mark and Chris Larsen, she is focusing on cognitive geography.  Specifically, the categories of objects people create while in natural settings.  Her research included a survey of recreational hikers
where they were asked to draw a mental map of a trail they had just hiked.
Wendy is currently working at Washington College in Chestertown, MD. Washington College is a small, liberal arts school.  She was responsible for starting the GIS program at the college and her duties include teaching, research, doing community projects, and assisting faculty and students with research involving GIS.
