I am a Ph.D. student in Geography (concentration in Urban/Regional Analysis). I graduated with both a BA in Environmental Design and a BA in Economics from SUNY Buffalo in 2001. As an undergraduate student, I studied for a semester at the Budapest University of Economics. I also had an internship in Kiev during the summer of 1998, working for the Ukrainian Investment Newspaper (the primary financial newspaper in Ukraine). I also traveled extensively during winter, spring, and summer breaks as an undergraduate. Much of my travel has been in Europe (including one 3 month and one 4-month journey), and has included many of the much less visited countries of Eastern Europe. My research interests include comparative urban morphology (particularly between North American and European cities), post-communist change in Central/Eastern European cities, the relationship between transportation and urban form, and the use of GIS in urban/transportation modeling (including the societal implications of such modeling). My hobbies include adventurous traveling, learning foreign languages, foreign films, trying different food, swimming and bicycling.
