I am a 43-year old electrical engineer and army reserve officer, married with four children. I received my BA in philosophy and my BS in electrical engineering from Cornell University in 1986, followed by my MS in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and MBA in finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1998. I am also a graduate of the General Electric Advanced Course in Engineering in 1989, Combined Arms and Services Staff School in 2000, and Command and General Staff College in 2006.

In my civilian employment, I supervise project and technical leads at ITT Industries Space Systems Division (Rochester NY). In my military appointment, I command an information operations battalion responsible for network warfare and information assurance.
