My primary interests of study at U.B. are geographic information systems, natural resources management, economic development and community-integrated GIS. I earned my bachelor's degree at Ithaca College in 2003, with majors in computer science, media studies and anthropology/archeology. That fall, I joined the Peace Corps in Tanzania to for two years as a secondary school mathematics and computer studies teacher and computer laboratory administrator. I completed my term of service in December 2005 and applied to the IGERT program, hoping to find a way to apply spatial information technology to the research and resolution of development problems in East Africa.
