I am currently in my
fourth year as a Ph.D. student and GIScience IGERT fellow in
the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental
Engineering.
Originally from
Patterson, NY, I completed my B.S. in environmental
engineering at SUNY at Buffalo in 2005. I spent the following
year completing an M.S. in civil engineering at the University
of California, Berkeley in 2006 and enjoying the west coast
before deciding to return to Buffalo.
My research interests
include ecosystem restoration and management, aquatic
chemistry, hyporheic zone interactions, and hazardous waste
management.
My current research
focuses on evaluation of WNY stream restoration projects using
both technical and social assessment methodologies. My
research objective is to develop success indicators to be used
in both stream restoration design and management. During my
four years at SUNY Buffalo, I have instructed a course in
hazardous waste management, worked on a variety of side
research projects and participated in GIScience activities,
including a four-month international research experience in
Brisbane, Australia (where I developed a healthy fear of
venomous snakes).
When not on campus, I
spend my time running, traveling, cooking, visiting with
family and friends and enjoying Buffalo summers. |
