My home department is Anthropology where I work in the physical/biological subfield. My research interests include congenital abnormalities in ancient populations, population genetics and demography, and forensic anthropology. I received a Master's degree from Penn State in Classics (Ancient Medicine) with a subfield in Medieval Britain. My outside field was Forensic Anthropology.  Area interests include the Mediterranean and Britain. I hope to do an international component in Italy and Wales specifically.

The combination of the fields has led to interesting topics which I hope to further clarify with an additional GIS aspect. It may sound strange, but there is much work to be done in ancestry and
epidemiology that uses GIS, and I recently found the 10th annual Crime/Forensic Science and GIS conference by the National Institute of Justice online!

I am married to a wonderful pastor, John, and we have a greyhound rescue (Acheron), a cat (Tassie)and a ferret (Bear). Outside interests include reading, Pittsburgh Steelers anything (Go Black and
Gold!), hockey, and travel.
