I am a second-year Ph.D. student and GIScience IGERT fellow in the Department of Geography at the University at Buffalo.  I obtained my B.A. from Dartmouth College in Environmental Earth Science.  After graduating in 2002, I worked as an environmental consultant and then a GIS Analyst while simultaneously working towards my M.A. in Geography from West Chester University.

My research interests include developing remote sensing techniques and GIS-derived landscape metrics for natural resource management and conservation planning.  I am also interested on defining conservation land uses through the development of formal ontologies so that information can be shared across disciplines and within information systems in order to implement better management strategies.

In my free time I like to run, do yoga, travel, play lacrosse and spend time with friends and family.
